“Nice private and friendly place to stay.”
Paperless and effortless. Room was spacious and clean. TV in each room. The shower pressure was incredible as was the spa bath. The pillows were feather…not the cheap dacron type typically found. Staff were friendly.

“What I want in a Family Budget Motel”
This is what I want in a family hotel: enough beds (3 twin and the full), a door to separate the kids from us, a table we can all fit at, à decent enough place to cook, room for our suitcases, a good shower, a place to park, and a safe neighborhood, all at budget price. This hotel nails all that. It’s not luxury by any means, and yes, it would be nice if it were a little better sound-proofed, but it was great. As a bonus, they do laundry for $10/load, washed, dried, and returned to our room while we were out. Walkable to the “Whaka village.

“Big, Clean room”
Size of room excellent. Easy parking. Clean and well equipped. Away from main traffic noise. Backs on to nice open area.

“Excellente soiree”
Spa for free in the bathroom, heating on the bathroom and the room. Small kitchen, enought tools for making a dinner and a breakfast. Toaster, electric kettle, tea and coffee for free in the room. Shampoo and soap included. Local tourists informations at the desk.

“Clean, Quiet, comfortable & spacious”
First time at this Motor Lodge and received a warm welcome. Our unit was upstairs and spacious with lovely afternoon sun. It also had a balcony with chairs and table. The bathroom had a spa bath with a shower over it. It also had the most effective heater around the ceiling light ever experienced - no shivering once out of this shower! The kitchenette was ideal as well. Large TV and efficient heater. Comfortable bed. We really enjoyed our three night stay, and would happily return. A bonus was coming back each evening, to find the garden beautifully lit with solar lights through the plants and out the front.

“a lovely surprise”
we only booked this motel the day before to break up our journey from coromandel to hawkey bay. We booked through booking.com. The room was very large with a queen bed, sofa bed, tv table and chairs plus kitchen area..and it still seemed huge. Quality bedding spa bathroom and very clean. I read in previous reviews complaints about the carpet but it looked fine to me. The exterior lighting was FANTASTIC! My only criticism is that there was no one to greet us on arrival, however they had text me to let me know that.

“Best accomodation deal in Rotorua by far”
I’m known as The Minstrel Wife and I tour NZ doing Hiwi the Kiwi shows at schools and spend minimum 60 nights a year in motels. Spent a couple of nights at New Castle because it was the best value available for a motel which included a spa bath and 50 channel TV. Was expecting it to be “budget” and was delighted to find it roomy. clean and very comfortable. Boon the owner was lovely and when we booked 9 more nights for August he gave us a substantial discount making this an unbelievably good deal.
